About

Hi! My name is Vanessa Venable and I am an artist, educator, and a fine art photographer located in the Charlotte area. I graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelors of Fine Arts concentrated in Art Education.  However most of my studio studies were conducted in photography, currently my style ranges from alternative process, to documentary imagery with my most recent works investigating communities, and relationships, in association to place.

I have interned and worked with the Mint Museum of Art in both their Uptown and Randolph locations teaching creative summer camps and helping to facilitate their NexGen teen outreach program in its ground breaking year. I also formerly served as the Coordinator for the UNC Charlotte Art Gallery and worked to develop their gallery space over the corse of three years.  previously I interned with Levine Children's Hospital instructing art classes to the patients, and also Maximo Nivel where I taught english to as risk communities in Cusco, Peru. Currently,  I work as a high school art educator in North Carolina, and am perusing a Masters Degree in Art Education from the University of Florida.

Outside of my day job I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking and traveling (always with camera in hand).
